The Cornerstone Building Fund
One stone at a time, a house will rise.
For too long, good men have done sacred work in borrowed rooms. Anyone who has ever carried a folding chair into a rented hall knows the truth of it: a Lodge deserves a home of its own.
The Vision
Imagine a door on a Phoenix street with our name above it
Imagine a room where the candles are ours and the altar is ours, where the walls have heard our obligations a thousand times. Imagine a place a brother's children can point to and say, my father helped build that.
Such a house is never raised by a single wealthy hand. It rises the way every great structure has risen, one stone at a time, set by many who believed before they could see. That is the work of the Cornerstone Building Fund.
How It Works
A restricted fund with a single purpose
The Cornerstone Building Fund exists for one reason: to secure, and in time to own, a permanent home for the Lodge. No disbursement may be made except for facility-related purposes, including lease deposits, rent reserve, purchase, down payment, renovation, furnishings, or contributions to Lodge building, and only upon a two-thirds majority vote of the Master Masons present at a stated communication.
The Fund is sustained by
- the $20.00 monthly Building Fund allocation from each member's dues;
- twenty percent of each degree ceremony fee;
- the net proceeds of any fundraiser the Craft votes to earmark for the Fund;
- good-faith accountability contributions from the membership; and
- voluntary pledges to the Founders' Wall.
The Secretary maintains a confidential ledger of the Fund and reports its balance at each stated communication, so the Craft may watch its house rise stone by stone.
The Founders' Wall
You are not donating to a fund. You are laying a stone.
Every gift, from a single Brick to a Cornerstone, places the giver's name permanently within the house he helped raise. Long after we have passed to the Celestial Lodge above, the brethren who follow will know precisely who built the place they call home.
The Founders' Wall honors brethren and friends of the Lodge who pledge toward our facility goal beyond their dues. These tiers are honorary; they confer no Masonic rights, secrets, or privileges.
